ENGEL – Green is more than a colour

Circular Economy

Green is more than the colour of an ENGEL injection moulding machine.

The Circular Economy = Sustainability for tangible forward-looking solutions:

Tim Fastnedge, Sales & Marketing Director of Techspan Group, attended the K 2019 plastics & rubber trade fair in Dusseldorf. Tim shares his experience as one of the staff assisting on the ENGEL booth at the K show.

Environmental Responsibility –

This is the one thing many of us have been seeing and having to deal with in recent years. The current image of plastics has been better. My recent trip to the K show in Dusseldorf, showed first-hand how ENGEL’s focus is on the processing of recycled materials, process stability and a general trend towards design for recycling. So ENGEL are driving responsible methods for sustainability.

ENGEL manufacture injection moulding machinery and automation, and today would be the largest privately family owned injection moulding machine manufacturer in the world. What’s more, ENGEL provide highly advanced technologies. Cutting edge stuff, with technology providing massive energy savings, and technologies to improve the moulding processes for results giving 100% good parts. Promoting use of processed plastic waste in the manufacturing of new plastic products is one of the tasks being given priority in the move towards the Circular Economy. As injection moulding machine manufacturer and system solution provider, ENGEL supports its customers in designing an increasing number of products for the use of recycled materials in one hand, and in continuously growing the content of recycled materials with new products in the other.

ENGEL iQ weight control:

This is just one example of ENGEL technologies that are aimed directly at processing control.

The iQ weight control adjusts the quality process for each shot during injection. This reliably compensates for any fluctuations in the raw material as well as ambient conditions. This results in 100% good parts being moulded. iQ weight control software works reliably with recycled material which has been verified with recycling specialists Erema. These result open up the door for recycled materials to be used in a far wider range of applications.

Future and stability:

ENGEL is committed to the future, to stability in market presence, and to sustainability in relation to its employees and its client relations. In addition, ENGEL invests in its subsidiaries in a resource-saving manner, while developing solutions that are ecological, socially acceptable, healthy and energy-optimizing.

ENGEL in New Zealand:

Techspan Group have represented ENGEL in New Zealand since 1979. Today the company is still a 100% privately owned family business. We offer precision engineered products for the highest possible functionality and reliability. Wherever possible our machinery products are modular, providing a flexible and logical solution for our customer’s requirements, as well as cost advantages, ease of maintenance and servicing. Precision engineering and innovative design can be seen in our products every day, from the Engel tie-bar-less injection moulding machines, to our FEA computer designed ultrasonic sonotrodes, and the precision slitting of our thermal transfer ribbons.
